December 21, 2020
We hope this message finds you well. We hear and say this often lately, knowing the answer is more complicated than at any time most can remember. But we still hold out, even cling to, all the power this simple word – hope – conveys. In fact, we are cautiously optimistic about the future as we close out an incredibly challenging year.
The obstacles we faced in 2020 were felt locally, regionally, nationally and globally. We have grieved, voted, protested, inspired, advocated, worried, celebrated and loved as we struggled to hold up the promise of better days ahead.
At Sierra Health Foundation and The Center, we are proud to continue our work in pursuit of health and racial equity and racial justice. We do so in awe of the incredible dedication, resilience and heart our partners and communities have shown under the most trying of circumstances. We are not surprised that so many of you stepped up in extraordinary ways to support your neighbors and communities, and pushed for equity-based solutions to long-term inequities exacerbated by the pandemic. As the year comes to a close, we want to wish you a happy Holiday Season and offer our partnership as we work to recover and build a better future in the weeks and months ahead. A lot remains to be done, and we will continue to pursue “a healthful life for all” together.
