The Center for Inclusive Democracy (CID) today announced its transition from an academic institutional affiliation to operating as an independent organization, a move that will expand and deepen its nonpartisan research and data work. Sierra Health Foundation is proud to support this shift by hosting CID at The Center at Sierra Health Foundation, which will serve as the organization’s fiscal sponsor. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to equity, civic participation and the belief that inclusive democracy is essential to the health and wellbeing of communities across California and the nation.
For more than 16 years, the Center for Inclusive Democracy has been a national leader in advancing inclusive democracy through rigorous, nonpartisan research, trusted data and meaningful civic engagement. Fiscally sponsoring CID through The Center at Sierra Health Foundation aligns directly with Sierra Health Foundation’s mission to advance health, racial equity and social justice, recognizing that democratic participation and representation are foundational drivers of long-term community health and opportunity. Together, we are building on complementary strengths: CID’s research and analytic leadership and Sierra Health Foundation’s infrastructure, partnerships and statewide and national reach.
This transition is an investment in the future of democracy. By deepening collaboration and providing stable, values-aligned support, Sierra Health Foundation and the Center for Inclusive Democracy are positioned to expand impact, strengthen partnerships across sectors and ensure that communities, policymakers and advocates continue to have access to the independent, credible data and insights needed to advance a more inclusive and representative democracy.
