Emergency response teams and extra funding from SHF

Sierra Health Foundation invests $65,000 to support communities impacted by wildfire and extreme weather

Sierra Health Foundation is proud to invest $65,000 to support communities impacted by wildfire and extreme weather in Butte, Tehama, Plumas and Sacramento counties.

Funds support emergency fire and climate impact relief efforts guided by local, trusted community-based organizations. Granted funds represent the Foundation’s commitment to responsive philanthropy and grantmaking for Land, Water and Climate Equity, one of its four funding priorities. Grants were awarded to the following organizations committed to addressing the needs of vulnerable populations in their communities:

  • United Way of Northern California – To distribute emergency cash funding for Park Fire survivors in Butte and Tehama counties.
  • Plumas Crisis Intervention and Resource Center Projects – To expand food distribution and shelter services to Park Fire evacuees in Plumas County.
  • Safer Alternatives Through Networking and Education and Always Knocking – To provide emergency distribution of water for unhoused community members in Sacramento County during extreme heat conditions.
