REACH Youth Engagement Grants

Sierra Health Foundation and Sacramento Region Community Foundation partnered to increase opportunities for young people to develop leadership skills and have a positive impact on other youth and local communities.

Through the Grants Advisory Board for Youth (GABY), which is overseen by the community foundation, young people ages 12 to 19 serve as board members and get hands-on experience in community leadership and team decision making. During their one-year term, members review and evaluate grant applications for youth-led community service projects. The funded project teams then have an opportunity to develop skills in planning and organizing events and programs that benefit their communities.
