The Vision

Sierra Health Foundation's vision for the Nonprofit Innovation Center is to help area nonprofits become more effective, so they can better support efforts to improve the health and well-being of residents in our communities. This collaborative model will inspire nonprofits to work at peak performance by leveraging each other's wisdom and expertise to powerfully impact the region.

The Nonprofit Innovation Center establishes a new model of organizational behavior in Sacramento that is quickly becoming popular in cities across the nation — collaboration in the form of shared space.

Many nonprofits tend to have ongoing difficulties finding quality offices at an affordable price, often resorting to spaces that are too crowded, not well maintained or miles away from the people they serve. With fiscal pressures and the rising cost of infrastructure, such as new technology and conference space, nonprofits are finding this new shared-space model to be a stable and affordable option.

To ensure that information, resources and opportunities necessary to achieve overall health, wellness and quality of life are made available to members of all Northern California communities, particularly those adversely affected by economic, health and social justice disparities.
